Heavenly Ski Resort

Heavenly Ski Resort, conveniently located in South Lake Tahoe, is near many of our rentals. It offers some of the most exciting slopes in the area. Heavenly allows skiers to hit the slopes seven days per week and maintains almost 100 trails. Twenty-eight chairlifts take you around the mountain, allowing you to discover the 4,800 skiable acres on their property. More experienced skiers will love Killebrew Canyon and Mott Canyon! Heavenly works daily to ensure all of their trails are covered in the perfect blanket of snow to give you an unforgettable skiing experience.

Homewood

Homewood Mountain Resort offers something for everyone, whether it’s your first time skiing or you consider yourself a pro. As far as their stunning location, their tagline says it all: “Where the Mountains Meet the Lake.” Homewood is located right on the water and takes you from the lift to the lake in just 280 steps! New skiers will adore the signature beginner run, a 2-mile course called Rainbow Ridge that offers North and South Lake Tahoe’s unmatched views. There are plenty of opportunities for more experienced skiers as well; Homewood’s Snowcat Adventures let you access eight lifts and more than 750 acres in the backcountry! You’ll find Homewood about an hour away from Southeast Lake Tahoe.

Alpine Meadows

Alpine Meadows stuns guests and offers unlimited fun across its 13 lifts and 2,400 skiable acres. You’ll find more than 100 trails to suit everyone, from newbie to expert. Some of the most exciting spots in Alpine Meadows are the Beaver Bowl and Estelle Bowl. However, it takes a bit more effort to reach these destinations, but it’s completely worth it once you see the view and experience the thrill down the slopes. Alpine Meadows is about an hour and 15 minutes away from Southeast Lake Tahoe, but the drive is justified. 

Olympic Valley

Olympic Valley, California, is a haven for skiers, snowboarders, and all winter sports lovers. This resort town sits about an hour and 15 minutes outside of Southeast Lake Tahoe and is best known for being the home of the 1960 Winter Olympics. As you would probably expect, there are several picturesque ski resorts here, including the famed Squaw Valley Resort. Skiers and snowboarders of all skill levels love visiting this town for its incredible slopes and stunning views of the Lake and the Sierra Nevada mountain range. There are also countless delectable restaurants, relaxing spas, and interesting museums in town for when you’re not on the slopes.

Northstar California Resort

Northstar California, located just about an hour away from Southeast Lake Tahoe, is hidden in the stunning valleys of Mount Pluto and offers an unmatched atmosphere for skiers to enjoy. This resort maintains 3,170 skiable acres and provides 100 trails to explore, with 60% of these falling into the “Intermediate” skill category and 20 lifts. The cross-country skiing opportunities available are perfect for families, and no matter what trail you’re on, you’ll have a breathtaking view of Lake Tahoe. Diamond Peak

The self-proclaimed “Lake Tahoe hidden gem,” Diamond Peak Ski Resort, is located just about 45 minutes away from Southeast Lake Tahoe in Incline Village, Nevada. This resort is another incredible location if you’re bringing your kids, thanks to its excellent variety of trails and programs. Diamond Peak has a special Child Ski Center for the little ones and a Ski and Snowboard School for older skiers who want to learn.
