Here’s a 2-day, family-friendly winter itinerary for South Lake Tahoe — fun even if snow is light!
| ❄️ DAY 1 — Exploring, Playing & Relaxing Together Morning — Heavenly Village + Gondola Ride Start at Heavenly Village (super walkable, kid-friendly).Ride the Heavenly Gondola to the mid-station overlook — huge hit with kids, great photos. Grab hot cocoa afterward. Lunch– Eat at Base Camp Pizza or Driftwood Café — both family favorites. Afternoon — Ice Skating or Mini Snow Play Go ice skating at the Heavenly Village rink. If there’s a little snow, let kids play in the open areas for a low-key snow session. Evening — Cozy Family Night Head back to your vacation rental for board games, hot drinks, or a movie night. Optional: Walk the village again to see lights. |
| ❄️ DAY 2 — Nature, Adventure & Easy Fun Morning — Easy Nature Adventure Choose one: Taylor Creek (flat trails, great for kids). Kiva Beach (gorgeous winter shoreline, easy walk) Both are beautiful even with low snow. Lunch– Try The Grove or Artemis Lakefront Café — casual, kid-approved options. Afternoon — Indoor Fun or Light Adventure Pick based on weather: Indoor mini-golf at Flatstick Pub (all ages welcome during the day), or Snow Tubing / Sledding at a local hill if snow picks up (Adventure Mountain is great when open). *They are making snow right now.
